VINE SOFTWARE - TRAINING COURSES
Vine Software runs a training course for people who need to administer Unix or Linux systems. The aim of the course is not to teach you everything about Unix but to give enough background information and tips to enable you to be able to work out what to do in almost any situation.
The courses are run at your site and runs for about 6 to 8 hours. There is an awful lot of information to take in so wherever possible the course is run as 3 or 4 two hour modules where you only do 1 or 2 modules in a day.
In all cases the course are tailored to the pupil's requirements. For courses which run over several days it is not unusual for the later modules to be totally different to what was envisaged at the start of the course. Here is a typical set of subjects covered in on of the courses.
You are not cast adrift once the course is over. The cost includes a small amount of telephone and/or email support as you gain your feet. A longer term relationship can be arranged where Vine Software acts as your System Administrator of second resort to be called on when the something out of the ordinary turns up or if you do not have the time to do the job yourself. If required we can also remotely monitor your system to ensure that it behaving correctly and to anticipate any problems. This is particularly useful for sites which offer Internet services - such as web servers - as they might appear to behave correctly internally but not be behaving correctly for people accessing them from the Internet.
